MENTORING
What is the Panama City POPS Orchestra Mentoring Program?
Emerging student musicians in 9th grade and beyond are encouraged to audition for the orchestra's mentoring program.
All applicants should also be at an advanced level and taking private lessons, as the mentoring process of the orchestra is not a substitute for private study.
If accepted into the mentoring program, students are placed with a mentor who will guide them and serve as an intermediaries between the conductor and the rest of the orchestra.
The student will also shadow experienced players for rehearsals and (possibly) performances to get the feel for symphonic orchestral performances.
The orchestra currently has openings in the Strings Section. Please contact us for more information on auditioning for this unique mentoring program.
Graduating Students
Established as a mentoring orchestra, The Panama City POPS invites advanced student musicians of all ages to audition. If qualified, they are mentored by current POPS musicians who help guide and teach them while giving them the opportunity to play and perform with an orchestra.
Completing the program with their final performance on May 8, 2010 were graduates Kelly Ramsey, Tyler Jones and Nic Cabiness.
